Sandler Partners is looking for an established Senior-level Marketing Copywriter/Content Writer and Strategist. The successful applicant will develop concise, engaging, and innovative content including newsletters, collateral, ads, scripts, social content, blogs, generate quotes, overview summaries, program guides, press releases, event invitations, and summaries — to engage with Sandler’s partners, providers, and the Channel. In addition to producing succinct marketing and educational copy, you will also need to conduct research on industry-related technologies and topics. The writer will report to Marketing leadership. Speed, efficiency, the ability to understand technology/customer needs, and work strategically are key elements to being successful in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create concise, eye-catching, and innovative body copy that engages our target audiences and promotes our brand
  • Write in different voices across departments and for top executives in the company
  • Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, provider materials, interviews, studies, etc.) and organize facts and sources into engaging messages
  • Brainstorm and collaborate closely with the marketing team, our knowledge teams, and other stakeholders to capture new ideas, strategies and receive feedback and edits
  • Identify content gaps and recommend new topics
  • Prepare well-structured drafts for review and approval
  • Proofread and edit messages in preparation for publication
  • Assist leadership with producing content for presentations, training, and other related communications
  • Provide ideas on ways to further promote content within email blasts, social media channels, and through our proprietary Sandler Portal
  • Ensure all-around consistency in messaging (style, fonts, messages, and tone)

Competencies and Skills:

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly grasp and translate ideas into concise content that engage a wide variety of audiences
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to rapidly produce viable content and messaging for our target audiences
  • Superior writing and editing skills in English — a command of grammar, spelling, and sentence construction is essential, as is a broad vocabulary
  • Excellent verbal and listening communication skills; must have the ability to objectively work with many types of people, as well as engage and represent different points of view
  • Well-developed skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based and Mac computer applications; hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (i.e., HubSpot, WordPress) is desirable
  • Ability to accurately proofread work
  • Must be motivated by high-energy sales environments with the ability to do independent work, team planning, and goal setting
  • Must have a high level of integrity and discretion, with an ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Required: Five years of previous work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role
  • Required: Previous experience producing online content, collateral, and email marketing
  • Required: Ability to perform research using multiple sources, incorporating various viewpoints, and follow industry best practices for evaluating/stating claims
  • Previous experience working within the technology space or related industry preferred; you will need to be comfortable writing about a variety of products and services in an understandable, engaging and in-depth manner
  • Previous experience ghostwriting for executives creating quotes and press releases matching the sender’s voice
